Join us for a Bike Ride and Picnic – May 17, 2015 11am

We hope you can join the ski club on a bike ride starting in Athens and going as far as you choose in the direction of Nelsonville.  The path is paved and it’s the perfect time to try it.  I know that ride has been on my list for a long time!

The event is for ski club members – but guests are welcomed and encouraged to come and be active with us!  Guest fee for cookout is $5, but if they join the club, it will go toward the membership fee.

OVSC New Year’s Trip to Quebec 2015

The Ohio Valley Ski Council is going to do a New Year’s Council trip to Quebec, Canada, December 30 thru January 4.  We will enjoy the ambiance of the Chateau Frontenac for lodging, and skiing Mt. St. Anne, Stoneham and Le Massif.  There are many activities for the non-skiers as well, such as a visit to the Ice Hotel, the tubing park or just the European flare of Quebec City.   New Year’s Eve in Quebec will have live music and fireworks.

We are contracting this through the OVSC; there will be no contracts to the clubs.  Flights will be departing from Columbus, Dayton, Cincinnati and Evansville at this time.  Contact Marty Baldwin OVSC/NA trip director to sign up.  It’s going to be an exciting New Years!!!

Well believe it or not summer is past the half-way point. I encourage you to attend the August meeting to find out more details about our water outing adventures we are planning. Our annual November Resort night will be upon us before you know it. We are looking for some good member support to help with this year’s event. Everyone can pitch in; we will need volunteers or making calls, food and beverage, gift items, silent auction donations and much more.

Your support and input is always welcome to help us with are largest local event. Efforts are in place to attempt to draw more support from the larger Western state resorts. Expecting once again an excellent turn out!

We will also be discussing three possible ski trips for 2015, come give us your suggestions for great places to go. So grab a friend and we hope to see you at JP’s on the 4th of August.
