The big news this month is our new meeting day and venue. \u00a0Please join us at the Parkersburg Country Club on the first Tuesday of the month! This was a unanimous vote at the July meeting, thanks to all of you who made it out last month.\u00a0 Our next meeting is:<\/div>\n

Carl Mayfield, from the Country Club, is super welcoming! \u00a0I’ll be sure you get to meet him on Tuesday. \u00a0He is working to include information on our club’s meetings in the their club’s newsletter. \u00a0We hope that Country Club members walk in to check out the ski club, and hopefully we will gain a few new members!You will be able to order food and beverages. \u00a0Just remember that if you choose to use a credit card, it will be an extra 3%, so plan accordingly with cash and checks.<\/div>\n

Our July outing with the ski club was a white water rafting trip on the Lower New River, in West Virginia. \u00a0Thanks to Sheila Decker for inviting the ski club to participate with Kraton’s group trip. \u00a0Check out the video and shots below. \u00a0We had a thrilling day. \u00a0White water rafting is such a treasure for us, and if you haven’t been, I encourage you to take a trip. \u00a0You can’t beat the amout of entertainment you get for the price of a trip. \u00a0For an entire day of rafting with a fantastic lunch included, the ticket is around $100. \u00a0We did benefit from the group rate. \u00a0We rafted with ACE Adventures, and they have great camping, and a lake with all sorts of slides, trampolines, ziplines and other crazy toys to play on!So – what’s the plan for August? \u00a0Not sure, come to the meeting Tuesday and let’s pick one. \u00a0We can reschedule the Blennerhasset Island trip, we can go rock climbing via ferrata style, or anything in between.Hope to see you there!Nancy Miller
